This summer, I attended a debate camp in International Ivy. We learned about the types of debate:
Lincoln Douglass Debate Public Forum Debate Original Debate What do you do in a debate? First, plan your debate. Let's take a look at the example: You should plan like this: First, make an opening statement. Your opening statement should include some background info like what happened when there were no cell phones in the olden days to introduce the topic. Then come up with ideas for your arguments. Pick your strongest arguments and if your topic requires research, go online to go look for facts to back up your arguments. Then plan a strong closing statement. That should get your ready for a debate. You should list all of your points that go with each argument. Watch a sample to know more. International Ivy really is fun!
